Charlie isn’t bling. Grills, jewelry, and gilding: no thanks, pass. He left all of that behind him. Charlie is raw. So raw that he walks around naked as the day he was born, in God’s image. In Charlie’s world, indecent assault is not a thing. Don’t see any political position or philosophical posture in this; Charlie is a primitivist, for sure, but neither nihilist nor anarchist. Like Basquiat and Gauguin, he believes in minimalism, in the primitive that pops. It’s his credo and style, how he lands on his feet at the end of the day. Speaking of, have you seen his rabbit’s foot? Charlie believes one creates one’s own chance. He’s not superstitious per se. But still... He’s got a lucky charm or two... Just in case...
